When it comes to changing your situation sometimes, you have to adjust your mind to an unpleasant situation so it does not destroy your spirit. In the case of being in a bad situation such as being married to someone who is consistently negative, you have to make some adjustments to flourish in that environment.
Recently I come across a great practice that could be applied to being in bad situations where you can feel better about the situation even though it is bad. The exercise involves you making a list of what you are grateful for in that situation. This is where you are actually going out and seeking positive nuggets so you can accentuate those and focus on those. Remember whatever you focus on grows. So let us say you are upset about your marriage and you think that it is going down the toilet. To feel better about your marriage sit down and make a list of everything you are grateful for in that marriage.
Making a list of what you are grateful for is a great exercise and it shines a light on your positive mental attitude and illuminates yourself. Make a list today of everything that you are grateful for if it is a marriage, if it is a job or relationship, make a list and adjust your mind to an unpleasant situation so it does not destroy your spirit.
